The location
The beaches at the end of the road are all small but rather delightful, with a gentle gradient ideal for children. In the summer it is segregated from the boats by buoys. Last year, for the first time, there were umbrellas and sun beds for hire on the larger beach.
Also here is the best hotel in town, the renowned Illa D’Or. It has a fabulous terrace built into the sea and we use it for drinks during the day, a cocktail on the way out in the evening or coffee on the way home.
Port de Pollensa is famous for its Pine Walk, a promenade lined with pine trees between expensive villas and the sea. From our villa you walk the length of the Pine Walk into the heart of the Port for the shops, restaurants and night life. The bustle increases the closer you get to the centre, but there are several very nice restaurants overlooking the sea before you get to the heart of things.
The full-sized supermarkets in the Port are readily accessible by car, but two small supermarkets are within easy walking distance and supply all your routine needs of bread, wine, water and groceries.
