There are many airlines with direct flights to Palma Mallorca from the UK, including:

For car rental we used to like Record, who generally have good cars, often upgrade and do not charge 40 Euros for a tank of fuel you might not use. But their prices are not always sharp and sometimes there are long queues. April 2008- queues simply horrendous and Record dramatically inefficient in handling the issue.

CarJet is usually good value, but there are dozens of others you can find with a web search. 2008 - We have had recent great service from Hasso. Watch for extras when CarJet contract Goldcar.
